Grand Opening of Nordstrom’s at Del Amo Mall!

Friday morning I decided to make my way over to Del Amo mall to see the grand opening of all of their new stores. Nordstrom’s is one of my favorite stores and others. While walking through the mall I ran into my childhood friend Shoshoni,  who I ended up staying with in line with many others while waiting for Nordstrom’s to open up.

They also had a beauty event that was going on earlier so it was pretty packed! The store is very upscale and beautiful! It’s huge! We couldn’t wait to go in to look around and shop. The mall also have many new stores and restaurants opening. To name a few they are Zara, Steve Madden, Lush, Kiehl’s since 1851, Cache, Bebe, Lette, Macarons, Sephora, Kate Spade, Victoria Secrets, H&M which combined two mall stores into one two story , and more that I haven’t named here. Make sure to stop by when you can!

The Grand Opening of Kiss My Kurves Boutique ๐Ÿ’‹

I received an invite to come and sip and shop at the grand opening of Kiss My Kurves Boutique from a friend of mines, who is the owner’s husband. Kurves owner is Felicia Williams, who is a beautiful and stylish woman! There was opening prayer before business began. Kurves provided plenty of refreshments for their customers. There was chicken tacos, icee and punch to drink, adult drinks, fruits, and a candy bar with all kinds of goodies!

Kiss My Kurves have an array of very stylish clothing ranging from all prices to fit all budgets. I purchased a dress that I love! I will be following up with a new post featuring the inside of her boutique and all of her styles of clothing! But for now here are some photos from her grand opening…

Getting Ready!

I’m still getting ready for my family’s wedding. I wanted to share my dress story with you all. This is the dress I originally was going to wear in the wedding.

image

It’s a Vera Wang from David’s Bridal, not in this color but Champagne and the sash would have been changed to purple. Well David’s Bridal didn’t have my size or color available and it wouldn’t be shipped in time.

So I decided to go check out Windsor Fashions. I told the sales lady that I needed a wedding dress in color Champagne.  She brought me several dresses to try on. After a lot of trying on, I decided on this one.

When I went to the register, she rung up the dress and told me it was on sale. So I thought great cause I was bummed about my original dress and really just needed to find one at this point. She said you won’t believe how much the dress cost now! I looked cause the original price was $120. The dress was on sale for $10!!!! The shoes I tried on with dress was on sale too from $39 to $13, so I purchased them too (not to wear in wedding) along with a shawl and accessories for a grand total of $43 and some change. This made my day!

So I shared photo of my dress  with bride to be and we both agreed that the dress was too short in the front. I went to JoAnn’s and purchased some chiffon fabric and dropped my dress off to be tailored at Wedding Tailor. I will share that in another post of what my dress looks like now. I’m very pleased with how it came out.

Sharing my Feminine Side…..

Love being a girly girl! I’m allergic to dirt, love pretty things, perfume, high heels, sparkles, romance, flowers, and being a feminine woman! XoXoXo

I love spending time with my daughters, shopping, blogging, going out to eat. I spend a lot of time with them showing them how to carry themselves as respectable young ladies. As a mom our job is never done, there is always an opportunity to teach and show our children new things. My 3 daughters know I enjoy doing fun stuff with them! โค๏ธ B, Princess Allyssa, Buttercups Love You 3 Babesโค๏ธ

BACK TO SCHOOL

It’s that time of the year again for school shopping and supplies. I began shopping for supplies in July. With a large family I always try and get a head start on things for them. So I started school shopping and am sharing some useful shopping tips….

Your kids may complain about being pulled out of the pool or off the baseball field to shop for back-to-school clothes, but this is an annual pilgrimage that can’t be avoided.

Plan shopping trips early for the best selection — and to make them easy on yourself and your kids.

1. Buy Only What’s Needed
Concentrate on the clothes your children really need: jeans, shirts, socks, underwear. Buy only one or two special outfits that your son or daughter “just has to have” and then wait until later to buy more.

Chances are your child will come home after a few days or weeks in school with completely different notions than she had in August. That is the time to buy a few more stylish outfits.

2. Don’t Shun Brand Names
While you want to teach your children that clothes are nothing more than outer, superficial trappings and that it’s what’s inside that counts, there are times when a brand name is appropriate.

If a certain brand is popular at your son or daughter’s school and he or she begs for it, give in if you can afford to. No need to go overboard or cave into every request, but wearing the “right” clothes might mean a lot to your child’s self esteem.

3. Teach Budgeting
If your children are old enough, they should understand that money is an issue when buying clothes. Tell them how much you have budgeted for their wardrobe and then let them shop within that range.

Certainly middle and high schoolers will understand this concept. Encouraging them to budget for themselves will teach them valuable lessons.

4. Make Life Easier
You’ll want to stock up on socks, underwear, and t-shirts for your kids. Trouble is, these items often look alike and get lost or confused in the laundry.

Buy socks in different colors and patterns — as wild as your child will permit. This way they will be easy to match.

Different brands of underwear often have different colored stripes or other markings, making them easy to sort after laundering. To keep your sanity when sorting laundry, use a laundry marker to write your child’s initials on a waistband or tag.

Color code your children’s everyday wardrobes. Maybe Susie’s t-shirts will always be pink and yellow, Debbie’s blue and lavender, and Billy’s green and brown.

Buy extras of all these workhorse items of clothing. Prices for these necessities are generally low during back-to-school shopping season.

5. Be Aware of Dress Codes
Some schools have dress codes. Be sure you understand them before your shop. Many schools forbid t-shirts with writing on them; others don’t allow hats, sandals, midriff-baring or crop tops, and short skirts.

You can make your own dress rules, too. What better time to explain them to the kids than during a back-to-school shopping spree?

Finally, label every piece of clothing that will be taken off or put on at school: jackets, sweaters, hats, mittens, gym clothes. This will not guarantee that nothing gets lost, but will increase the odds significantly that they will be found.

Wash the clothes before your children wear. Some fabrics are treated with chemicals that could irritate young skin or even smell unpleasant.

Keep these shopping trips reasonably short, if you can, and above all, try to have fun with your kids. Too soon they’ll be back in school and wrapped up in their busy lives!
