This is a great read by PositiveMed that I’m sharing. One of the ways of staying healthy and living happy is to make better choices for ourselves. After my surgery for my illness hyperthyroidism and Graves’ disease, I made it my business to learn how to handle stressful situations and not allowing stressful people and or things get to me.  In this read it talks about our choices we make that later may come back to haunt us, in the form of regrets. This emotion regret is a negative conscious and emotional reaction to personal past acts and behaviors. Wishing we would have done things differently, blaming ourselves for bad outcomes.

Regrets will keep us trapped in the past, ignoring the present. Hold us back from taking chances. Keeping us blaming ourselves for mistakes that we made, when in the end of it all no one is perfect but God. I think the best way to cope with them would be to accept, if you have any, learn and move forward with your life.

10 Choices You Will Regret In 10 Years

Regret is often the bitterest pill to swallow, and regret is a painful emotion that often gets worse over time, rather than better. To avoid feeling regret someday, here are ways to steer clear of this destructive mental state:

10 Choices You Will Regret In 10 Years

1. Don’t let someone else dictate your dreams. In order to live a full and happy life, you have to be authentically you. Never allow someone else to tell you what career path to follow, or whom to love. Allow yourself to know what you enjoy and what makes you happy, and then make sure you are free to do so. Don’t be afraid of being misunderstood by others – the only person that really needs to understand what you are doing is you.

2. Be careful of the company you keep. Even if you aren’t worried about losing your reputation by surrounding yourself by bad people, negative people they will inevitably be a negative influence on your spirits. Instead, open your life and make room for the people who make you feel good about yourself, your life and goals and who will be a positive influence.

3. Stop faking it. You should never have to hide your true self in this world, especially if it is to make others think better of you. Being authentic to yourself allows you to fully enrich all aspects of your personality.

4. Keep growing. Learn something new, however small, every day. This keeps you from missing out on new opportunities.

5. Never give up. Learn to see set-backs as lessons, not failures and use the lesson to grow.

6. Be kind, Always. The most painful regrets often involve critical words, ego clashes or selfishness. Remember that kindness is what makes people missed, not cruelty.

7. Don’t procrastinate – It goes faster than you think. Never assume you have an unlimited number of tomorrows. Get started on your dreams now!

8. Take responsibility. Be an adult, admit your faults and weaknesses, and make the changes to get your life and maturity in order.

9. Don’t settle. If you know you deserve better, move on. Period.

10. Let the little things slide. There are enough big problems in this world. Don’t borrow worry.

In life we all are faced with regrets some linger, some go away after time. Look at yourself lovingly and turn things around. Embrace your mistakes and know you are not perfect. 🌸Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your week.🌸

Making Yourself A Priority

We all need to take some time out for ourselves. In taking care of our love ones and going about our everyday life with work, school, and everything else that consumes our time, we forget or put our needs last.

If everyone else around you is worthy of care and attention, then so are you. You not only deserve this time, but you need it for your own well-being. Lack of time for ourselves often leads to feeling frustrated, tired, overwhelmed and out of balance. Without this time for ourselves, we lose sight of what’s important to us.

First, decide that you deserve some time to yourself each day. Stop feeling guilty for taking time out for you, and realize in the long run, it’s a win-win for everyone. When you are tired, stressed out and pulled in too many directions, it is hard to give your best to all you must accomplish. Remember, self-time is not selfish—it’s a necessary dimension of self-care!

Decide how best to spend “me” time. How each of us chooses to spend free time is as individualized as we all are. If you had an extra 15 minutes, a half hour, an afternoon or an entire day, what would you do to make yourself feel rejuvenated, relaxed and happy? Write a list and keep it handy when you begin scheduling time into your calendar.

Evaluate the things that are wasting your time each day. Do you check your emails constantly and end up spending more time on your computer than you planned? Do you answer personal calls in the middle of your workday? Run to the supermarket daily to pick up dinner rather than plan in advance and shop once? If this sounds like you, you must take the time to organize your responsibilities, and you will gain more free time than you can imagine.

Learn to say “no” to requests to do things that you don’t really want to, don’t value or don’t bring you satisfaction and joy.

Ask for help with chores that don’t necessarily have to be completed by you alone.

At the beginning of each week, take a few minutes to designate specific time slots for all that must be accomplished—including “me” time. Treat your personal time like you would any other appointment and make it non-negotiable.

Commit to a minimum of 15-20 minutes of “me” time every day. Do something (or nothing) that completely lets go of responsibilities and releases your mind, allowing you to be alone with your thoughts.

Create a daily ritual. This can be a bath, listening to music, taking a walk or meditating. Make it something you can look forward to.

Stop wishing you had more time to yourself, and commit to carving it into your schedule. Rather than bemoan your lack of time, change your approach and create the time using the tips above. You will be amazed at how a little bit of time to yourself can make a huge difference in your health and happiness!

” There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful, than a woman being unapologetically herself; comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the true essence of beauty”…. Hussein Nishah
I want people to know and accept me as I am. I love talking and meeting new people. I think I’m a cool laid back lady. As far as with my outer beauty I want my inner beauty to shine on the outside.
