Hair Care

Today I’m writing about my hair care. I have been letting my hair grow out and keeping it healthy in the progress of that. Some of my favorite shampoos and conditioner that I love are L’Oréal Paris ElVive Total Repair 5 shampoo and conditioner, Paul Mitchel Tea Tree Lavender Mint Shampoo, and their Tea Tree special conditioner. The tea tree products gives your scalp a little tingling while it’s on your scalp, so I let that sit on for a little while I’m showering and rinse out after. My scalp is very dry so I’m always trying to moisturize it while not using any heavy oils and or products that are too heavy for my type of hair. I have some pictures to share of my previous hairstyles and a couple of the products I listed here.

These pictures was taken in my car and this is the only time I can wear lipstick before having to remove it and put my mask 😷 back on to get out of the car. I wanted to clarify that here so everyone knows I’m being safe and cautious out here!

Beauty, Fashion, Make-Up

Hey there! I’m taking a break to share some inspiration about inner beauty. And also to share some new beauty finds and new cosmetics that came out for spring. Coming soon is mascara madness at Nordstrom’s. They have this sale twice a year! Buy two mascara’s and get one free, and yes from any department you like! I always take advantage of this sale. I throw out my old mascara that was opened and replace with the new. My new picks are some of my favorites and I always go with a new one I haven’t tried yet. You can also pre order with Nordstrom’s. Mascara madness is in May 2015.

“No matter the physical characteristics of any person, true beauty shines when actions show compassion, love, and spirit. Within the heart true beauty is found.”

“You are the beholder of great beauty, hold the beauty in your eyes; let it fill your senses and permeate your being. Glide with grace into every meeting and enjoy the colors and variety in every moment. BE KIND….Help Others

For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.

False Eyelashes (Care and Dangers)

It used to be nail or hair extensions and a spray tan that we couldn’t live without, but lately, the biggest trend is to add length and volume to the eyelashes. I wear my own naturally long lashes with some of my favorite mascaras. But for those that don’t have long lashes or just want to enhance their own, here are some dangers and things to be aware of.

False eyelashes are back in fashion, even the exaggerated and unusual sorts, but a new craze for semi-permanent eyelash extensions is also emerging. Semi Permanent Eyelash Extensions are synthetic eyelashes glued directly to the natural eyelashes. They last 4 – 8 weeks depending on your real eyelash growth cycle and how well you take care of them. It should be done by a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist, and it is important to look into the quality of the bonding agent used as well as the standards maintained by the salon and the “Lash Artist”. While there advantages to this false lash method over the more popular method where a prefabricated strip of eyelash is applied to the eyelid, there are also more things to beware of. The drastic difference that lash extensions can make in your appearance can almost seem comparable to plastic surgery, only without any surgery. But just because the process isn’t surgical doesn’t mean it’s completely safe. Unfortunately, many people are learning this lesson the hard way.

Another thing to remember is that most face cleansers will dissolve the glue used to attach your extensions. Use the wrong cleanser and you could wash off your extensions completely, or even end up with all of your eyelashes stuck together in one big clump. Trying to remove the lash extensions before they fall off naturally is difficult to do without causing your natural lashes to fall out too.

So, while some people are swearing by eyelash extensions as their new beauty secret, many are wishing they’d just been thankful for the natural lashes they had. If you’ve made up your mind to get eyelash extensions, make sure you have someone with plenty of experience apply them, and find out how to care for those extensions once you have them.

What the Experts Recommend:

Allergy Test
Have an allergy test prior to any treatment involving chemicals. Your sight is precious so it’s always better to be safe and to check it out before having any treatment. If you experience any discomfort or irritation, see an optometrist as soon as possible.

Beware of Moisture
If you want to go swimming or wear mascara with your eyelash extensions, check with the therapist first.

Eyelash Mites
To prevent an infestation of lash mites, special cleaning must be followed.

No Pulling, Picking or Playing With
It is important to leave your eyelash extensions alone as much as possible. While you will need to carefully comb them and clean them, you will otherwise need to abstain from tampering with them in any other way.

Is It Really Worth It?
There are more ways than one to enhance your eyelashes. Try a quality mascara and or wear some descent fake lashes for an occasional boost to your look. Whatever way you choose put your health first.

Benefits and different things to do with Yogurt!

Yogurt’s got power-boosting protein and bone-building calcium. It can also help you lose weight and fend off a cold. Yogurt is not only a healthy snack, it can be used for different things as well. Here are some:

Make a facial mask
You don’t have to go to a spa to give your face a quick assist. To cleanse your skin and tighten the pores, slather some plain yogourt on your face and let it sit for about 20 minutes. For a revitalizing facial mask, mix 1 teaspoon plain yogourt with the juice from 1/4 slice of orange, some of the orange pulp and 1 teaspoon aloe. Leave the mixture on your face for at least five minutes before rinsing it off.

Make moss “paint”
Wouldn’t it be nice to simply paint some moss between the cracks of your stone walkway, on the sides of flowerpots or anywhere else you want it to grow? Well, you can. Just dump a cup of plain active-culture yogourt into your blender along with a handful of common lawn moss and about a cup of water. Blend for about 30 seconds. Use a paintbrush to spread the mixture wherever you want moss to grow—as long as the spot is cool and shady. Mist the moss occasionally until it gets established.

Relieve sunburn
For quick, temporary relief of mild sunburn, apply cold plain yogurt. The yogourt adds much needed moisture while its coolness soothes. Rinse with cool water.

Make finger paint
Ready for some messy rainy-day fun? Mix food colouring with yogourt to make finger paints and let the little ones go wild. You can even turn it into a lesson about primary and secondary colours. For example, have the kids put a few drops of yellow food colouring and a few drops of blue in the yogourt to make green finger paint. Or mix red and blue to produce purple.

Cure animal flatulence
If your pet has been a bit odoriferous lately, the problem may be a lack of the friendly digestive bacteria that prevents gas and diarrhea. The active culture in plain yogourt can help restore the helpful bacteria. Add 2 teaspoons yogourt to the food for cats or small dogs weighing up to 14 lbs (6 kg). Add 1 tablespoon for medium-sized dogs weighing 15-34 lbs (7-15 kg). Add 2 tablespoons for large dogs weighing 35-84 lbs (16-38 kg). Add 3 tablespoons for dogs larger than that.

More good benefits of eating yogurt are:

1.Yogurt can give you flat abs. Eating 18oz a day you can drop a jeans size.

2. Most brands of yogurt contain good-for-you bacteria.

3. Yogurt is loaded with vitamins.

4. A cup of yogurt a day can help you recover faster after a workout.

5. Not all yogurt is equal when it comes to calcium and vitamin D. . “The levels can vary widely from brand to brand, so you really need to check the label.”

6. Yogurt may prevent high blood pressure.

7. A daily serving of yogurt keeps colds away.

8. Yogurt can help your smile. Despite its sugar content, yogurt doesn’t cause cavities.

9. Raw doesn’t mean better. Virtually all the yogurt in your grocery store has been pasteurized — that is, exposed to high temperatures to kill any harmful pathogens.

10. Yogurt is a high-protein food. Yogurt can be an excellent source of protein, but “one variety may contain more than double the protein of another.”

What to Look For in a Yogurt
Forget the fancy promises. To find a healthy yogurt that’s low in calories, fat, and sugar, follow as many of these guidelines as you can.

Per 6-ounce serving:
Calories: 100 to 150 (if you’re snacking, stick to the lower end)
Fat: 3.5 grams or less (low-fat or nonfat)
Saturated fat: 2 grams or less
Protein: at least 8 to 10 grams
Sugar: 20 grams or less
Calcium: at least 20 percent of the daily value
Vitamin D: at least 20 percent of the daily value

What are some of your favorite brands of yogurt? I love yogurt and am enjoying my favorite flavor now, strawberry by Yoplait! Keep healthy and stay positive. Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day.

Beauty Of A Woman

“The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows & the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.”

Beautiful Ways to work on….

1. Smile. As the quote goes, “I’ve never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful.”

2. Be there for someone who needs you even if there’s nothing in it for you—give without expectations.

3. Make a sacrifice for someone you love.

4. Admit a mistake, even if it’s hard to say you’re wrong, and work to make amends.

5. Share your struggles, putting your ego aside, to make someone else feel less alone.

6. Create something that helps people. A song, a blog, a support group, a non-profit—anything that inspires.

7. Help a child feel good about him or herself.

8. Tell someone what you appreciate about them, even if you feel vulnerable.

9. Forgive someone without needing to hear the words, “I’m sorry.”

10. Create positive energy around you by thinking positive thoughts and acting with positive intentions.

11. Sit with reality without judging anyone or anything.

12. Accept someone for who they are instead of trying to change them to who you want them to be.

13. Treat people as they want to be treated.

14. Notice something simple but beautiful in the world around you.

15. Acknowledge the beauty in others instead of feeling threatened or competing with other people.

16. Be the change you want to see in the world.

17. Tap into your personal power and do something that makes a difference in the world.

18. Find strength in a challenging moment. It’s not easy to do, and you deserve credit for it.

19. Talk kindly about the world around you instead of gossiping or complaining.

20. Forget yourself for a minute and do nothing but listen to someone who needs it.

21. Measure a person by their best moments, not their worst.

22. Give yourself the same courtesy—focus on the good you’ve done, not the mistakes you’ve made.

23. Take the high road when someone hurts you instead if being cruel or catty.

24. Make someone laugh. A smile can literally melt stress and pain away. How beautiful of you to do that for someone else!

25. Make someone cry—tears of joy that is. People want to feel moved, inspired, motivated. Never underestimate the power of touching someone’s heart.

26. Keep an open mind instead of sticking with a judgment or assumption.

27. Love what you’re tempted to fear.

28. Be the voice of optimism when the people around you need it badly.

29. Show humility when your accomplishments would make it easy to stand above people.

30. Handle rejection or failure with grace. It’s far more easily said than done—and it sounds so cheesy and cliche—but accepting loss gracefully makes you a true winner.

31. Show unbridled enthusiasm for something that excites you. All children are beautiful, and I think their unadulterated joy has a lot to do with it.

32. Hear what someone means, not just what they say. Anyone can nitpick. Not everyone actively works to be understanding.

33. Imagine a world where people know peace, and do one small thing to create it.

34. Honor the values that matter to you. Showing integrity is the first step to feeling good about yourself.

35. Accept and love yourself, just as you are in this moment.

And now a disclaimer: some days you may not do anything written above—in fact, you might do the exact opposite. On those days you are still beautiful.
These are things I have been working on and doing😉

A Look Back at NHCouture Styles….

I have compiled up some of my style and fashion over the time I have been blogging. I really enjoy doing photo shoots and writing. So far most of my writing has been inspirational, but I plan to go into a lot of areas on my blog. My younger kids love helping me. My youngest Buttercups (Ny) has become quite the photographer! Shout out to my baby girls Nyann and Allyssa.
